Dear Mathematicians,

Today we’re going to talk about those special numbers that only have one factor pair–prime numbers. We found quite a few of them between 1 and 36 yesterday, and today we’re going to look at them a little bit closer. You probably noticed some similarities about them and maybe you think you noticed some patterns.

I love prime numbers. There’s just something about them that makes me feel alive. When I think about them, it’s as if the universe is whispering its secrets into my ear. That’s what doing math is all about.
